TOP STORIES AROUND THE KINGDOM
π₯ Fife Restaurants Added to Michelin Guide

Fife doesnβt always get mentioned when people talk about must-visit restaurants, but we all know there are some fantastic eateries right here in the Kingdom. So itβs great to see two local restaurants added to the Michelin Guide: The Shoregate in Crail and Ondine in St Andrews.
These additions join 7 other Fife restaurants already on the list, bringing the total to 9 Michelin-recognised restaurants, with 1 of these even having a star:
Craig Millar @ 16 West End, St Monans | Modern Cuisine
The Dory Bistro & Gallery, Pittenweem | Seafood
Haar, St Andrews | Modern Cuisine
Kinneuchar Inn, Kilconquhar | Modern British
Ondine, St Andrews | Seafood
The Peat Inn | Modern Cuisine β
Seafood Ristorante, St Andrews | Seafood
The Shoregate, Crail | Modern Cuisine
The Wee Restaurant, North Queensferry | Classic Cuisine
Of course, this isnβt an exhaustive list of the best restaurants in Fife, and Iβm sure everyone has a favourite spot theyβd love to see added. Weβre working on our own Fife Insider list right now, and weβd love to get your suggestions. Just hit reply and let us know your favourite restaurant!

ποΈ Doors Open Days Starts This Week!

Every September, Doors Open Days gives visitors across Scotland the chance to explore buildings and areas normally closed to the public. Regular readers will already know about the extremely limited tours of The Queensferry Crossing at the end of the month, but there are plenty of other fascinating places opening their doors, many with much more availability.
When the event began in 1990, there were just 44 buildings, mostly in Glasgow. Now, Fife alone has over 70 locations taking part! With so many options, the full event list can feel overwhelming, but thankfully, you can filter by region, with West, East, and Central Fife each having their own listings.
Here are some of our personal highlights:
Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy | 6 September 2025 (10:00 β 17:00)
The Byre Theatre, St Andrews | 6 September 2025 (11:00 β 17:00)
